About This Blog
This is a personal blog. It's one part personal stuff, one part media that I'm into, and one part sociopolitical issues I care about.

Things on my mind lately include Battlestar Galactica, the fate of River Song, the challenges of traveling solo as a woman, and how to transcend misogynistic narratives in traditional Appalachian music.

Stuff I typically blog:
→ politics (American and international)
→ international relations
→ social justice (especially intersectional feminism)
→ language & linguistics
→ the Balkans
→ Palestine
→ gymnastics
→ personal stuff
Alison Krauss
fandom

This blog doubles as an Alison Krauss' boobs appreciation blog because for some reason, when you do a Google search for Alison's boobs, my blog is generally the first relevant result. I don't know how this happened, but I will accept it. If people are gonna be googling her boobs, better they find the blog of a fangirl expressing solidarity than that of some skeezy dude objectifying her.

If I ever disappear or get hacked, find me at iellaantilles.tumblr.com.

MORE OF A MAN

USA, 1990
Director: Jerry Douglas
Stars: Joey Stefano, Michael Henson, Chi Chi La Rue, Rick Donovan

Available on DVD - order here

Vito (Joey Stefano) is a man in conflict. As a devout blue-collar Catholic, he’s deeply convicted to maintaining his gruff, proud masculinity but all he can think about all day long is stuffing his mouth and arse with other men’s’ cocks. As Vito drifts between action johns, gay bars and truck stops, his attraction to men begins to assert itself, and eventually, he has to confront his homosexuality.

There’s little new in this John Rechy style milieu but More of a Man does some unexpected things with the material. It contains a pantheonic gay porn cast, with everyone from Mike Henson and Lon Flexx to horse-hung legend Rick Donovan all holding their own while in orbit around the great superstar Stefano.

The sex scenes are generally hot and Stefano’s look and attitude were never so suited to a role. Unfortunately, the intrusion of a shrill Gay Pride agenda is unwelcome, as is the poor lighting and camera work in one scene that make potentially sensational close ups of a double-penetration barely visible.

GUYS

mumfordandsonsblog:

This is precisely what I was saying would happen and why I choose to not post copyrighted files for download.

Yesterday I posted a download of my personal live recording of Jerry Douglas performing “The Boxer” with Mumford & Sons in Nashville and Mediafire suspended my account for a violation due to materials related to Jerry Douglas.

I will work to rectify this matter, if at all possible, and I sincerely apologize for the terrible inconvenience.

Jfc I hate copyright so much.

I’m really sorry about this.

Download TumTaster to be able to download any mp3 directly from Tumblr.

Or message me privately for the download link to Mumford and Jerry’s version of The Boxer.

(I’d be lying if I said I bought the albums of every single artist Alison did a duet with, and I won’t hold Mumford fans to a double standard just because Jerry is a member of my favorite band.

Buy the track if you can afford it and want to support the band you love. Until then, enjoy it on your iPods.)

Jerry Douglas’ new album Traveler won’t be released until June 26th, but here’s a special preview of what’s to come…

Mykal-Ann says: Oh my Mumford/Jerry-loving heart! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE! ♥

I might actually love this more than I love Alison’s version. WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME, MARCUS?!

Just keep playing, no matter how weird it gets.

“Awake My Soul” - Mumford & Sons Knoxville, TN - 11/8/10

Jerry’s having a blast up there. Mumford + Jerry = Epic epic win.

The Mumford-Jerry bromance makes my life.

“I just really like those guys. They sing that song (Sigh No More) backstage before they go onstage. It’s kind of their anthem. They’re just really great boys.”

kaghlsgkj I didn’t know that. That is adorable.

I can’t even deal with how awesome this bandom crossover is. And hearing them go on and on about how big Mumford has made it… I’m just so grateful to have been able to see them in an intimate venue before they went really huge.

Also also also:

Jerry’s family was shipped out of Scotland for stealing cattle and causing border wars lololol.
