Oh my god, I love this theory.

He told river his name in let’s kill hitler.

That’s not confirmed, though. I mean, yeah, probably. But this show leaves things like that vague just so they can go back later and say, “Surprise! You thought it was this but it was really that!”

What’s truly heartbreaking is not that River is gone, but that the doctor came to truly love again only to have to say goodbye. She was as close to an equal and confidant as he will ever come to find and she helped him become a better man. And even though she died, his words “I can always see you” seem like more of a vow to never forget or stop loving her.

This is why I cry when I watch Doctor Who.

This is why I’m so upset by this idea that their timelines are exactly back-to-front and Eleven is the only Doctor she ever knew. River was basically the only Time Lady he’d known since having to kill his entire race. She could follow his logic, she could save him without having to be told what to do, she could speak to him in his mother tongue. She didn’t have a mortal lifespan.

It’s such a waste for him to only have such a short time with her. She was supposed to be the one person he could go to when he needed someone to really understand him.

#so you know I’ve been listening to this song today and it kind of hit me #and I started wondering - how set in stone they are? #how many messages scattered across the universe understood only by them? #how many battlefields they fought on #how many battles they won or lost together #how many books written or mentioning them#how many of them call river his killer and how many call her his saviour #how many people tried to interpret their story and make sense of it #how many people tried to follow their path across the universe #how many accidental marriages taken in different parts of the universe #how many songs written about them how many people hating them and being scared of them - of the blood soaked creatures #and how many races loving them for saving their lives #ugh I cannot?!

I didn’t talk much about seeing Laura Marling, I guess. It’s hard to say something like, “she was so awesome!” because I think it’s definitely more subjective when it comes to people like her. I wouldn’t be surprised if some people thought her performance today was boring. But to me, she was just freaking great and I adore her and I’m so glad I ended up going. I didn’t even care that I didn’t know any of the songs except “Once.”

She’s shy and she just seems very small and delicate. But then her lyrics seem to contradict her onstage personality, like she’s a force—albeit, a quiet one—to be reckoned with, singing lyrics like, “I will not be a victim of romance, I will not be a victim of circumstance, chance or any circumstance or romance or any man who could get his dirty little hands on me.”

And like, she seemed really intimidated by/uncomfortable around all the cameras around. She could see everyone and people were right there at her feet and three giant cameras were filming and countless DSLRs, so I feel for her on that. She wouldn’t look down at the audience and I thought maybe she was looking at the people upstairs who could be watching, but there was no one up there. She didn’t talk much and when she did, she was very quiet and shy and before she left, she thanked everyone for coming and then was just like, “Umm… thanks,” and kind of giggled and walked off.

I just have a lot of feelings and it’s hard to put it in words and at first I left kind of “whatever” over it but now that I’ve had time to think about it, I really did enjoy it and I’m really glad I went. I like that she’s the type of artist who I do have to take time to let sink in and process and have a deeper mark on me.

Tl;dr Laura Marling is awesome.

That’s the thing with Laura. You either enjoy the performance because you love her music and her words, or you don’t enjoy it at all. She’s said before that she doesn’t think of herself as an entertainer. She only really cares about the music and you can take it or leave it, basically, lol.
